Well, our class of '69 hosted with our core and extended core working tirelessly. Simeon was the low key M.C. for the night which was filled with award prizes up da yin-yang. The food format was exceptional. But the golf time with everyone on the course was just fine. That's why we live Hawaii. I felt blessed to be with longtime childhood friends as family. All the classes together was simply exceptional just to be there. And as well, I sincerely say that many of you out there were all remembered and missed as well, even the non-golfers like me. So many volunteers smiling and waiting at par 3's, sun shining, trade winds swaying trees and golf balls in flight, too!
I really have to say, as always, our class was really distinctive of sorts. Pat Nakoa gave us just the coolest embroidery design on our shirts and caps. Ricky Pa's artwork was distinctive as always. We struggled and placed a solid 2nd, but an HONEST 2nd with NO sandbagging or fudging! We are delighted to have done as well. Linda Kapuniai Rosehill slaughtered her competition again. Debbie Davis' drives made the men reverent on the tees even. Bobby Willing's meteorically increased skills and our class ringers from Sam, Noa, Gilbert, Cynthia, Neil, Les them guys gave us r-e-s-p-e-c-t with the rest of us bringing it in. It wouldn't have been the same without Tuddie the ambassador with a go cart who promised that Mugsy will take up golf once and for all for real. Unique and standing out from the common and all the rest. Despite the run-of-the-mill golfing, we still remain a strange, different sort of class. We really are a '69 class. No accident. Ke Akua knew what He was doing.
Mahalo for the tournament committee and volunteers who passed out Kimo Spence's hilarious prescription materials, i.e. container, warning label, ball and tees. I got a birdie with that ball! Too, bad I wasn't playing golf at the time though.
