Wednesday, December 11, Nate Chang writes "The long awaited book, 'Images of Aloha' is out. It is a collection of photos from 1950 to present, shot by Pop Diamond and some of his student photographers. It looks super!

One year ago, I was asked to write the Forward for the book and I had the honor to be present today for the VIP signing at Kawaihao Plaza. There will be another signing, January 17, 3:30-6PM, Admin building at Kapalama campus.

If you order your book prior to Dec. 27, cost is $30 (plus postage). After this date, cost is $60. If you want an order form, send me your fax number and I will fax to you ASAP. Or call the Alumni Office on campus. Toll free number is 1-800-842-4682.

Andy Keliikoa and wife Jackie were able to attend the session this past week and we had a super time. Pop is still the same.....ageless. I am hoping to organize a special dinner for him in the spring and Andy was the first volunteer to help. Anyone else is welcome to sign on. "

Sunday, December 1, Team Imua'69 participated in the 2002 Seattle Marathon, a showcase Northwest tradition in great Marathons. The event raised over $14,000 for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Puget Sound. Representing our class in the half-marathon walk were Laulani & Mike Donlin, close friend Ruth Acker, Mahea Paishon, and Wayne & Flora Wong.

Under unusually sunny, clear and 50 degree conditions, all of the team finished well under 4 hours. Let me tell you, 13.1 miles is a long way to go! Even more amazing about the achievement is that the majority of the training was held at the tables of the Todai Restaurant! (just kidding).

None of us brought a camera but some pictures should be available soon from the event (stay tuned). Meanwhile, 'cuse me while I look for some oil to 'lomi out the aches and pains...
