| An Imua'69 contingency ventured to the state of Oregon recently, starting at Portland. Drawing reinforcements from the other "Coyote Club" staff that happen to live in the Pacific Northwest, they stormed into Oregon State University in Corvallis to help with the preparations of the Hui-O-Hawaii 47th Annual Luau. DJ Mark captured digital bits of the event and Bobby Lu narrates... (Click here to read what DJ has to add to this...) It was a party in Oregon!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! We all had so much fun! The lovely ladies, Gail, her sisters Debbie and Mopsey, Nancy and Mike (handsome man) arrived last Tuesday to cold, but not so bad weather. It wasn't raining! Yes, yes, yes!!!!! Of course they brought with them their households. I had to take my truck to the airport so we could transport all of the goodies. We had so much to catch up on that we did not hit the sack until 3:30 AM. That was just the beginning of the 'up til 3:30' evenings. The big shopping spree began on Wednesday. Oregon has no sales tax, so it's bargain round up time. I think someone said they bought sixteen pairs of panties at Victoria's Secret! (Hee, hee). I won't tell to whom they belong. The group then descended on Corvallis to prepare for the huge Oregon State University luau on Saturday, April 20. Nancy organized all of the cooking. She was fantastic!!!!!!! Cooked for a thousand people. Donnette, DJ, and I pitched in with the preparations. DJ serenaded us with her beautiful ukulele music. That girl can really play. She will be a master soon. You go girl!!!!!!The luau was a sell out. Gail's son, Kalei, was the coordinator of the whole event and did an excellent job. The luau-food, entertainment, decorations-was the best of the best. |

| Paul Cathcart joined us. He has moved to Bend, OR and is building a log cabin on the river. He loves to ski, so he has been planning the move to Oregon for the last ten years. It was really nice to see him. I think he was surprised to see so many of his classmates in one place in Oregon. (Hee, hee) |

All the mother's got up and danced the hula to surprise their sons and daughters. The kids were just thrilled!!!!!!! Nancy and Gail were in the front row. Talk about beautiful hula dancers. Wow!!!!I think there were about fifteen mom's up there. Charmaine and Bruce Wong were there to support their son Mica. Miki Miki (Nancy and Mike's son) and Kalei (Gail's son) played the music and sang. Such talent coming from the new generations. |

Of course we had to get up on the stage to take a picture of all of us and sing Imua Kamehameha. The love and pride just follows us throughout our lives. My girlfrens are gone and I miss them. This is getting kind of long and you know me, I can go on and on like an EverReady Battery. I just want to thank Nancy, Gail, Donnette, DJ, Mopsey, Debbie, and Mike for the special love and kindness that they share with all. They are very special people. Also, a big thank you to Lorraine and Simeon for their love and thoughtfulness. Lorraine, your poki, etc. is soooooooooooooooo delicious. We missed you girlfren. Next time, okay? Caydie, you too, next time. We are all so looking forward to Lana'i. Take care and lots of love to you. Bobby Lu PS- Gail won $350.00 gambling at one of the casinos on the Oregon coast. Talk about lucky!!!!!!!! |
