A Taste of Queens Surf -Sunday, June 29, 2003

Hey Melissa, Nice to see you at da picnic yesterday. Ki kept asking as we were looking for you guys "...is that them... how about those guys?" When we saw a big group of locals, I was thinking to myself...Man, I'm really getting bad I don't recognize any of them. Luckily, you guys saw us checking out the wrong picnic and starting waving at us.

Good to see Debbie and her daughter Paola there, she seemed like she was doing great. Someone I haven't seen before comes up to me and says Hi, Neal...I'm Marianne. Luckily you told her to tell me her last name. When she said Kai, then I connected who she was. Been 30 years at the Waianae Comprehensive Health Center and a Director there. Joked with Maka that she was not like him or me, she's got a "real job". Thought your husband was a quiet guy, but he can talk just as much as you. He had some funny stories. And your daughter Maile whether good or bad is just like you. Donnette and Arthur brought the most ono roast pork and also made us feel good when she grabbed a take home plate almost bigger than ours. Mugsy and I of course only talked about good stuff about our good ol buddy Rickey. Simeon comes walking up without his Lorraine. Find out that he had her drop him off while she had to go find a parking space. Long time later, she gets there and tells me that she parked far away. And was thinking of stopping at a bar and having a margerita on her journey here. Sam was telling us how much he misses his Theone and can't wait to move to the mainland and be with her. Wow. He also told and acted out the funniest story about the perils of having an aisle seat on the airplane. Of course, Maka's Gail and Tiffany were the slyest. Put all the leftover cartons of ice cream in "their" cooler. My wife had to fight them to get 2 of them back to take home. Was also nice that da Burfday Guy gave you that Birthday Fairy certificate. Anyway, we had a good time and was good seeing you. Sorry, didn't spend too much time talking stories but you and Ki seemed too busy catching up. There'll be the next time.

We're all so happy Melissa's tests went well the next day.
-Nuff for now. Laters, Neal Chung.
